I watched a very disturbing interview with former ANC activist Simon Roche about the state of South Africa:
Of course if the murder figures really are being suppressed by the authorities like this then its hard for anyone to verify or deny them.
The last claim certainly seems to be backed up by other sources – life expectancy overall is the lowest in the world according to this report from the US govt. (see page 34):
This apparently has a lot to do with the prevalence of HIV/Aids there.
The murder rate overall in the whole population is as high as anywhere in the world according to this:
Simon Roche is the head of a civil defense group called Suidlanders which according to their website:
has a large-scale evacuation protocol in place in case an ethnic civil war happens, designed to remove roughly 20% of the estimated 4.8 million white South Africans safely from the embattled region.
Other claims from Mr. Roche’s website:
Dr. Greg Stanton, founder of human rights group Genocide Watch who accurately predicted the Rwandan genocide in 1994, warned that the increased killings of white farmers in South Africa are being carried out for the sole purpose of extermination and seem to be directed by government elements, Roche noted.
Simon Roche has been dismissed as a white supremacist by some. However I thought the fact that he was a former activist in the ANC made it worth looking into his claims in some detail as “white supremacists” don’t normally join such organizations. Of course his views may have obviously changed at least in some respects since he was a member of that organization. It also seems rather daft to call him a white supremacist as his goal seems to be to evacuate white South Africans from South Africa in the case of an emergency, not to restore apartheid.
The overall number of murdered whites figure (74,000) has been disputed elsewhere for example from news24:
White Genocide, fact or fiction?
This article claims that the numbers of whites murdered is a greatly exaggerated and claims that the numbers of murders of whites are lower than for the continent in general.
This next article claims that the number of murders overall (not just whites) since democracy has decreased (this article lacks detail however):
Facts show South Africa has not become more violent since democracy
This article claims that the high figure of murders of whites overall is inaccurate and that its blacks who are more at risk from violent crime:
Are SA whites really being killed ‘like flies’? Why Steve Hofmeyr is wrong
This article quotes figures from the Transvaal Agricultural Union of South Africa (TAUSA):
TAUSA figures for the 22 years between 1990 and 2012 state that 1,544 people were killed in farm attacks, an average of about 70 a year or one every 5.2 days.
Then the article also claims that the statistics quoted as murders of white farmers include murders of all agricultural workers who are not all white. Although according to the figures they quote this would reduce the rate of specifically white farmers murdered the rate is still alarmingly high, a fact the writer of this article appears to wish to downplay:
According to a 2003 police committee of inquiry into farm attacks, cited by Solidarity, 38.4% of farm attack victims were described as being black, coloured or Asian. TAUSA’s figures suggest that 208 (or 13.5%) of those murdered in farm attacks between 1990 and 2012 were black.
Hofmeyr’s statement that a white farmer is murdered every five days is therefore also incorrect.
That would still mean however that just under 1,000 white people on farms were murdered since 1990 out of quite a small population of people (currently 40,000 according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_South_African). That still represents a horrifically high murder rate for those people. Imagine the fear it would cause.
In this next article the idea that there is political motive is challenged:
ANALYSIS: Why farms attacks are a special problem in need of a special solution
Evidence does not support claims of a political motive
The above articles all seem to be anxious to downplay the situation and make much of the fact that the crime rate is high in South Africa generally – its not specifically white people being targeted is the message. Counter claims are made in this next article (note this site seems to be regarded as a white supremacist site by The Washington Post, Fortune, and the Anti-Defamation League). I have included it for balance as it seems the other articles I looked at above have bias in the other direction, obviously I can’t be certain of the claims of either side as I have only these articles to go on:
Damned Lies and Statistics About Black-on-White Farm Murders in South Africa
This article includes this claim:
Every year, millions in taxpayers’ money are forked out to private security firms to protect … the new South Africa’s police stations.
If law and order has broken down to the extent it appears to have done then that rather casts doubt on the official figures I think.
There are indeed some very disturbing reports of murders of white farmers in the news. From an Australian news site:
‘Bury them alive!’: White South Africans fear for their future as horrific farm attacks escalate
This year so far, there have been more than 70 attacks and around 25 murders in similar attacks on white farmers.
The attacks described are truly horrific and involve torture in many cases. Claims are made that the objective of the attacks is to terrorize the white farmers into leaving the country.
“The average murder ratio per 100,000 or the population in the world is nine, I believe. In South Africa, it is 54. But for the farming community it is 138, which is the highest for any occupation in the world.”
This article also repeats the claim made by Simon Roche in the video:
Since 2007, at the direction of the government, South African police have stopped releasing statistics about the race of the victims.
It also claims incitement to murder (bury farmers alive) was made in the parliament by an ANC MP:
Last week, during a debate in parliament about the farm attacks, an ANC MP shouted “Bury them alive!” while MP Pieter Groenewald was speaking about the plight of white farmers.
From the UK press:
While these claims of the overall numbers of murders of whites are being disputed, the numbers of murders of agricultural workers who are mostly white is terrifyingly high. Murders of white farmers in South Africa are running at a very high rate approaching that of a war zone.
The numbers of white people in South Africa overall are shrinking in absolute numbers but even more so in percentage terms as white people leave and the black population has been growing at a fast rate, while the white birth rate is low and static. A growing population in a country where the farming community is under attack? Sounds like a recipe for a disaster in the making to me. The currency has been devalued quite dramatically as well.
Jacob Zuma sang a song about killing the Boers at a rally in 2012:
An ANC youth leader was convicted of hate speech for singing this song in 2011, but here the president is singing it at a public rally. Can you imagine the consternation if Theresa May were to sing a song about killing the members of an ethnic minority in the UK? Its truly mind-boggling to even think about it. Clearly all is not well in South Africa.
In the light of the claims in the article I looked at above, that says there is “no political motive” it does seem just a little bit suspicious to me that both the president of the country and an MP have publicly called for the killing of these farmers who are actually being killed at a very disturbingly high rate. Of course there may be nothing in it, but when politicians including the president start calling publicly for a section of their own citizenry to be killed, well I don’t know it kind of looks a little bit as if there MIGHT, just MIGHT be a little bit of a political component to what is going on. At the very least this is blatant incitement to murder.
It seems that Russian and Chinese involvement in the continent during the communist period has influenced many of the leaders in Southern Africa towards communist ideology. The attacks on farmers may be motivated by communist ideology as well as racial hatred of the white population perhaps.
I think a serious crisis is in the making in South Africa and the probability will be that there will be more refugees trying to flee to Europe as a result (of all races). Not just in farming, the economy more widely is in big trouble. It has been claimed by some this is connected with the policy of affirmative action where apparently companies are not allowed to hire more than 9-10% white people regardless of ability – because that is the percentage of whites in the population.
I think there are lessons for Europe in all this. Its time to cast aside the straitjacket of political correctness and ask some blunt questions. Should Europe be letting in huge numbers of fit young men of unknown background from such a crime ridden region? These countries fought for independence from colonial rule, so why on earth are these people now descending upon Europe in such huge numbers?
A suggestion that we should give amnesty to refugees fleeing the region based on ethnicity would I’m sure be met with a barrage of indignation. However it seems that white farmers are now a persecuted minority in that country and the case for welcoming them into Europe must surely be better than it is for people who are members of ethnic majorities in their home countries/regions (who don’t really have a case for refugee status at all). Knife crime seems rather high in London these days as it is.
