An Anglo-French summit was held this week. From the Express:
Send the bill to Merkel! Tory fury as UK gives £45m to Macron for Calais border security
He is also expected to ask Mrs May to take more migrants from Calais, especially unaccompanied children.
In spite of the many problems with the asylum process, which are causing a lot of disquiet among the UK population, the plan apparently agreed is to SPEED UP the process:
UK and France to tighten border controls by fast-tracking asylum claims at Calais
Pointing to his country’s agreement to lend Britain the 950-year-old Bayeux Tapestry in 2022, he said he hoped the gesture would be the start of a new era of cultural and scientific links between the two countries, “so we are somehow making a new tapestry together”.
We think many people in the UK are unhappy about May’s apparent capitulation to the French president’s demands. Instead of protecting his own borders, he appears to be only too happy to let large numbers of immigrants into France and then use them as a bargaining chip in negotiations with the UK government.
We remembered an article from 2008 that claimed that a plot was afoot to bring 50 million Africans to Europe (from the Express):
Secret plot to let 50million African workers into EU
vast numbers of migrants could be needed to meet the shortfall in two years if Europe is to have a hope of funding the pension and health needs of its growing elderly population
Revealing once again that border security is not a serious item in the Tories’ agenda, Boris Johnson called for a bridge across the Channel, from the Daily Telegraph:
Boris Johnson calls for bridge across the Channel, saying it’s ‘ridiculous’ the countries are ‘linked by a single railway’
The fact that the UK border agency is apparently having enough trouble trying to stop illegal immigration already is clearly not a concern that is on the foreign secretary’s mind. Do we actually live in a democracy, many people are wondering? Wasn’t a key election pledge of the Tories that they would get immigration under control?
We wonder if the Home Office is really trying to protect our borders at all following these revelations from the Daily Mail:
Home Office worker ‘was lynchpin of plot to let illegal migrants stay’: Employee is accused of falsifying records that could have seen hundreds benefit
Theresa May’s race audit relies on misleading statistics
Is the drive for “equality” in the work place undermining our ability to control our borders, we wonder?
Stories from around Europe continue to pour in that suggest that perhaps the big drive for more diversity might not be going too well. From Breitbart:

There appears to be something of an exodus of millionaires leaving Germany in their thousands according to Gatestone Institute:

UK police commander forced to backtrack on his explanation for the lack of FGM prosecutions, from Breitbart:

We read that as meaning that the police just don’t really want to prosecute these cases.

The Daily Mail highlights the contrast in fortunes between one of the SAS heroes who stormed the Iranian Embassy and one of the terrorists who has since been released and who appears to have been treated vastly better by our “welfare” system:

We tried not to pay too much attention to the Henry Bolton affair, a man’s private life is surely his own business, but the news kept coming and the pressure on UKIP became intense. From the Express:
