Pocahontas saves the life of John Smith
Our weekly roundup of news and opinion articles that we thought were important, mostly UK news but foreign news stories of interest to us as well.
From Breitbart, an astonishing claim that:
EU ‘Secretly’ Plots to Control UK Tax After Brexit and Block Cuts
Nigel Farage tells us in The Telegraph that there is increasing confidence at the EU Council that there will be no Brexit:
Chucking Chequers is not enough, it’s time the Tories chucked Mrs May
“Surely, Nigel, you don’t believe Brexit will actually happen?” people taunted
Theresa May’s civil service Brexit man Olly Robbins was harshly criticized by a former MI6 chief. From the Express:
‘He’s HOODWINKING the public’ – ex-MI6 chief ATTACKS Theresa May’s top Brexit negotiator
The EU is apparently funding the so-called “People’s Vote” campaign for a 2nd referendum. From order-order:

Also, President Trump sent a notification to Congress (this is required 90 days before trade negotiations can begin according to order-order):
White House Notifies Congress: US-UK Trade Deal At The Front Of The Queue
Viktor Orbán of Hungary says that the EU is only trying to take charge of border security because it wants to end resistance to the mass migration:

From The Mirror:
Huddersfield grooming gang whose court cases were protested by Tommy Robinson jailed for total 221 years
“My mum and dad’s houses got trashed, their cars got trashed.
“I was constantly getting raped, beaten up.”
Tommy Robinson was convicted and imprisoned for reporting on these cases.
Tommy now draws our attention to the fact that the judge let one of those now convicted out on bail, who subsequently fled to Pakistan to escape justice and he’s still there apparently. (This is also mentioned in the above Mirror article – Sajid Hussain (33) aka “Fish” was convicted of rape of a child and was sentenced to 17 years in his absence).:
BREAKING TOMMY ROBINSON REPORTING RESTRICTIONS LIFTED AS RAPE GANG IS SENTENCED TO OVER 220 YEARS
Tommy makes a very good point in the video challenging the reporting restrictions, he points out that the pattern of behaviour repeats in these cases and publicizing that pattern of behaviour will therefore help other parents to notice the tell-tale signs early on. He also points out that in the other case he was reporting on, defendants were also allowed out on bail and were working in the same places where they would have had chances to make contact with young girls. He also reminds us of the severity of the crimes being tried – rape and violence against children. Are THESE really crimes where a defendant can be allowed out on bail he asks??? It’s worth listening in full to the above clip, he makes other points as well.
Tommy Robinson’s next court date is next week on Tuesday the 23rd October. From Breitbart:
Activist Tommy Robinson to Face Fresh Contempt of Court Trial
Notorious Islamic preacher Anjem Choudary was released. From the BBC:
Anjem Choudary: Radical preacher released from prison
The conditions he must obey include:
A ban from preaching at or attending certain mosques
Why are these “certain mosques” even still open, some were asking? He will be kept safe at a cost of £2 million PER ANNUM to the British taxpayer apparently (never mind all his welfare payments and the legal costs). From The Week:
Islamist hate preacher Anjem Choudary set for early release
Breitbart reported that:
PICS: Terror Convict Anjem Choudary Housed Next to Children’s School
Meanwhile apparently (from Breitbart):
Government Blocks Study into Radical Islam and Conversion in UK Jails
Over 100 MPs have signed a pledge vowing not to report illegal immigrants. Lord Green of @migrationwatch commented:
“The task of MPs is to represent the electorate, not those who have no right to be in the country at all.”
See the list of signatories here, including Diane Abbott the current shadow Home Secretary who will be in charge of immigration and law and order if Corbyn is ever elected:
MPs not border guards – pledge signatories
Also on the (mostly Labour) list are Richard Burgon (shadow Secretary of State for Justice), Tim Farron, Caroline Lucas, and one Conservative Heidi Allen.
My constituency and surgery are safe places and I welcome all my constituents to seek representation free from fear of immigration enforcement.
From the Independent (2015):
Landlords renting properties to illegal immigrants to face up to five years in prison
Lord Green was also in the news last week responding to government plans to change immigration policy. From The Daily Mail:
ANDREW GREEN: At long last! Real action on migration - so why do I still have concerns?

This view from The Federalist (via Counter Jihad Report):
Why Is Khashoggi Being Made The Defining Issue Of U.S. Foreign Policy?
In Pakistan, apparently a number of UK charities and NGOs have been denied official registration. The Telegraph says that it is suspected this is because the intelligence services there suspect them of anti-government activities:
Aid to 11 million at risk as Pakistani intelligence gives 18 charities and NGOs their marching orders
From The Guardian:
I’m joining Facebook to build bridges between politics and tech
From The Telegraph, apparently Clegg was previously critical of Facebook’s failure to pay very much tax in the UK:
Nick Clegg accused of ‘hypocrisy’ after accepting Facebook role
New news websites are sprouting up like mushrooms. From a site we haven’t heard of before called “Free West Media”, a race riot in school in Sheffield allegedly (it was certainly a riot, there is video footage in the links):
Media blackout on biggest race riot in British school history
Allegedly parents joined in the fracas wielding cricket bats and baseball bats.

Many were speculating that another surge of migrants heading for the US was being orchestrated by unseen actors. From The American Thinker:

A speech by an AfD member in the German parliament:
Merkel’s Motto: “After me, the Sharia”
The BBC had this headline about potential US presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren:
Elizabeth Warren: DNA test finds ‘strong evidence’ of Native American blood
Yes she definitely has some native American ancestry – she is between 1/64 and 1/1,024 Native American to be precise! Quote:
This puts Ms Warren as between 1/64 and 1/1,024 Native-American, according to the Boston Globe.
A bit less Native American than the average white US citizen then in fact. Of course the BBC headline was technically accurate but about as misleading as it could be. Apparently she was once described as the “first woman of colour” to teach at Harvard Law:
Elizabeth Warren Was Celebrated as ‘First Woman of Color’ at Harvard Law
President Trump refers to her as “Pocahontas”.
The US media have already turned against her though. From Breitbart:
Nolte: Establishment Media Reverse Course to Blast Elizabeth Warren over DNA Fiasco
CNN: “Elizabeth Warren might have actually made things worse with her DNA gambit”
Earlier they had been desperately trying to defend the claim. From CNN:
Here’s the deal with Elizabeth Warren’s Native American heritage
“I will give you a million dollars to your favorite charity, paid for by Trump, if you take the test and it shows you’re an Indian,” Trump said. “I have a feeling she will say no but hold it for the debates.”
He was wrong.
No, the fake news media was wrong!
