Our weekly roundup of news and opinion articles that we thought were important, mostly UK news but foreign news stories of interest to us as well.
There are now less than 100 days to go before we exit the European Union, on 29th March 2019. 96 days to be precise according to this site:
Days left until Brexit
Jacob Rees-Mogg backed Theresa May following the failure of the Conservative Party’s internal no confidence vote in her leadership. From the Express:
‘Do NOT believe in LOSER’S vote!’ Honourable Rees-Mogg accepts no confidence vote result
Confusion reigned as Jeremy Corbyn tabled a motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister only (not in the government). The government refused to allow the vote and Theresa May walked out of the House of Commons while Corbyn was speaking.
Corbyn IGNORED: Theresa May simply WALKS OUT as Labour leader demands no confidence vote
Corbyn also revealed once again his well known but yet somehow often overlooked position on the EU. From the Express:
Brexit live: Jeremy Corbyn says he would push to leave EU if he was PM
The idea of a 2nd referendum is being mentioned more frequently now (this lady’s often for u-turning):
BREXIT ULTIMATUM: Theresa May to offer these THREE options – and REFERENDUM is an option
DUP deputy leader Nigel Dodds criticized the “backstop” as a trap. From the Belfast Telegraph:
Brexit: Republic and EU’s plans for no-deal proof backstop is trap, says Dodds
There were quite a few articles about preparations for a “no-deal” being ramped up, for example from the BBC:
Brexit: Cabinet ‘ramps up’ no-deal planning
From the Telegraph:
No deal planning must be the top priority and non-urgent business junked, Cabinet to be told
According to the Sun at least, even the EU was beginning to make plans for this eventuality:
NO DEAL, NO SWEAT Boost for Brexiteers as EU blinks and launches plans to make No Deal work
Anyway, it seems the EU’s great leader has begun the Christmas festivities a bit early. From order-order:
Juncker’s Jolly Dinner
A Yellow Vest incident occurred outside the Houses of Parliament. From altnewsmedia:
Public Order Act - Anna Soubry vs Yellow Vests
The legacy media and some politicians reacted quite strongly to this small incident.
MPs condemn harassment of Anna Soubry and Remainer MPs by ‘yellow vest’ protesters
The Independent bizarrely tried to associate this peaceful protest with the murder of Jo Cox without producing any evidence to support the insinuation:
Far-right ‘yellow vest’ Brexiteers chase Anna Soubry shouting ‘traitor’ and ‘Hitler’
Meanwhile in London, leader James Goddard told Ms Soubry she was a “traitor” - the same term used by neo-Nazis to describe the murdered Labour MP Jo Cox.
In another incident, Yellow Vest protestors held up a “Bollocks to Brexit” protest bus and one of the Yellow Vests was violently assaulted (Remainers on the bus can be heard laughing at the incident in the clip). From Unity News Network (there are some other Yellow Vest stories at this site:
SICKENING Glee of REMAINERS over Brave Yellow Vest ASSAULTED
From Voice of Europe:
British yellow vest movement picks up steam and spreads North
The Yellow Vest theme has spread to some surprising quarters. From Breitbart:
Royal Palace Staff Don Yellow Vests, Strike over Pensions
Protestors, some in yellow vests, from a “green” protest group protested against a LACK of BBC climate change coverage here:
BBC LOCKDOWN as protest erupts at London’s New Broadcasting House – ‘Reclaim the BBC!’
Did we say a LACK?
Protests continued in France. From the Express:

to pressure from employers without thinking of British workers’
MIGRANTS IN THE THAMES: Hijacking Ended as Special Forces Storm Ship
Belgian PM Charles Michel to submit resignation
The BBC did a “reality check” on opposition to the pact:
What’s the UN global compact on migration?
It’s not legally binding and allows countries to remain in charge of their own immigration policy
This statement is at variance with what Angela Merkel said last week however. We quoted this last week but here it is again. From Voice of Europe:
They lied: The UN Migration Pact IS legally binding and could be valid FOR ALL countries
Merkel is quoted in the above article as saying:
“So then, during the UN General Assembly next week, the pact will once again be up for debate and a decision will be made on whether to accept it. At this time, a member state can demand a vote. When two-thirds of the represented countries agree then it is valid for all. That’s how majority decision-making works.”
From EU Observer:
US allies in dismay at Trump’s Syria pull-out
From politicalite (which is mentioned in an article from politico that is quoted):
AGAINST YOU: Downing Street Admits It’s ‘Lost Media Control’ And Moves To FIGHT Alt News
From Vlad Tepes’s blog (the video now available on alternative site):
Youtube removes video of arrest of Jayda Fransen (video below)
Jayda complains of non-stop harassment since being released from prison in the video clip.
From the Daily Mail, yet another astonishing story from our courts:

From the Guardian:
Trump policies should push Britain to reduce its ties to US, say peers
issues including the Paris climate change deal, the Iran nuclear accord and steel tariffs had been “contrary to the interests of the UK”.
The committee is led by former Conservative minister Lord Howell.
We learned this astonishing fact this week. From Breitbart:
Schools Ordered to Teach Eight-Year-Olds That ‘Boys Can Have Periods Too’
We assume that grown men can also have babies and suffer the menopause as well, no doubt this misogynistic article at the NHS website will have to be updated to reflect the new information:
The menopause is when a woman stops having periods and is no longer able to get pregnant naturally.
From the Daily Mail:
Gingerbread men banned at Scottish Parliament as part of a new drive to ‘stamp out sexism’
Corbyn was supposed to have called Theresa May a “stupid woman” (he didn’t even say it out loud, people were lip-reading what he “said”) and our stupid representatives in the House of Commons, those stupid men and women (and stupid people of other genders or no gender at all), and the stupid press, were in uproar about this non-incident. James Cleverly the Conservative MP said this sort of behaviour must not be tolerated:
If women want equality they’ve got to be prepared to take it on the chin with the men, we doubt anybody would have batted an eyelid if Theresa May had called Corbyn a stupid man. Our contributor Chauncey Tinker responded:
From the BBC:
Fiona Onasanya: Peterborough MP guilty in speeding case
found guilty of perverting the course of justice by lying to police
From the BBC:
Did my children die because I married my cousin?

From Breitbart, a report on an academic study:
Muslims in Europe Becoming Less Secular, More Radical as 80 Percent Now Identify as Religious
From the American Thinker, an article about the well known site Der Spiegel, which apparently “fired an award-winning journalist for fabricating “on a grand scale””:

Apparently one of the awards was the CNN Journalist Of The Year award!
From Vlad Tepes’s blog (last week):

Some parts of Somalia are now safe enough apparently for the migrants to return to. From Voice of Europe:
Danish Minister for Migration: “Somalis go home and rebuild your country”
Increasingly we are hearing reports of a trade in human organs cut out of migrants in transit through Libya. Here is one such report from the ibtimes:
African slaves cut open for their kidneys in Libya’s burgeoning organ trafficking market
According to website Far Left Watch:
Patreon allows armed Antifa group to raise money for “revolution”
From Jonathan Turley’s blog, an article about Patreon that mentions the recent “sacking” of popular Youtuber Carl Benjamin aka “Sargon of Akkad”:
Patreon: A Threat To Free Speech
Jordan Peterson is apparently working on a solution, there is also a clip about that included in the above article.
Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year,
Let’s hope it’s a good one without Project Fear.
