BBC NEWS (NEWS ABOUT THE BBC)

Social media exploded with commentary about an appearance on BBC Question Time by actor Laurence Fox (son of actor James Fox), and the hashtag #WeRunWithTheFOX became popular. Some clips from the program in this article from order-order:

An "audience member" challenged Fox and accused him of being a "privileged white male":

Quote:

“QUESTION TIME RACIST She accuses Britain of being racist but loses the argument. So she defaults to slating a white man for his colour. She is an anti-white man, racist, BIGOT! (Who is she? She looks like Meghan's sister?) https://t.co/KV5C1cN416”

However it later turned out that she has been interviewed on a BBC program before in her capacity as a university lecturer, and her (since edited) social media profiles stated that she was a "BBC Breakfast Newspaper Reviewer" (see some of the replies under this tweet):

Quote:

“This is the 'random' member of the public that had it handed to her on BBC Question Time by @LozzaFox the other night. If the BBC puts any more plants in the audience, they'll have to merge the show with Gardeners' World.”

There was a backlash from the "woke" luvvies. From the London Evening Standard:

It seems the standards at the BBC have changed since 2015 (or maybe they haven't). From the BBC (2015):
