MIGRANT CRISIS - EUROPE

Gatestone Institute drew our attention to a report from 2019 that gave some idea of the scale of the migrant crisis (bearing in mind only the period 2014-2017 is mentioned, and it only includes those that were detected). From the Center for Immigration Studies:

Quote:

Between 2014 and 2017, 13 of the 26 member states lining the so-called Schengen Area's external land borders recorded more than 2.5 million detections of illegal border-crossings along several land and sea routes, an historic, mostly unfettered surge that came to be known as the "migrant crisis".

From Jihad Watch:

Video clip in this tweet shows interviews with locals and footage of migrants milling around a town centre apparently in Bosnia:

Quote:

“It's the migration crisis that mainstream media doesn't talk about. Since the number of new arrivals to Greece skyrocketed last summer, tens of thousands of Afghan & Arab migrants are passing through the Balkans The border city of #Bihac in Bosnia has the biggest concentration https://t.co/Q775f4I0aY”

SOCIAL MEDIA ISN'T ALL BAD

Finally a good news story to cheer us up a bit after that lot. Social media proved useful to a museum after 2 bonsai trees were stolen. One of the trees had been grown in a tin can by a Japanese-American man during his stay in a World War II internment camp. From the Good News Network:

Note – Please note that we are dependent on the veracity of news reports provided by other news sources. It is not our intention to knowingly quote “Fake News” (except where stated as satire), but we do sometimes quote the BBC when other sources are unavailable.
